NBA Mock Draft 1.0

With the NBA at a stopping point due to the All-Star break, now would be a good time to look at what this summer’s NBA draft could look like.

2015 NBA Mock Draft 1.0

Round 1

1. Minnesota Timberwolves: Jahlil Okafor, C, Duke

Okafor is the best player in all of college basketball this season and is widely viewed as the hands down number 1 pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Okafor possesses good size and an NBA ready offensive repertoire down low that will be able to improve any NBA team.

2. New York Knicks: Emmanuel Mudiay, PG, China

Mudiay has great size for a PG standing 6’5″ and has a similar body to Michael Carter-Williams. He is a solid scorer that is capable of beating players off the dribble and will provide the Knicks with much needed help next to Melo.

3. Philadelphia 76ers: D’Angelo Russell, SG/PG, Ohio State

Russell is perhaps the best scoring prospect in the draft and is capable of playing both guards spots. He has a complete offensive game and reminds me a little of James Harden. He falls asleep on the defensive end at times but he definitely has the tools to be a great player in the NBA.

4. Los Angeles Lakers: Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Kentucky

The Lakers need help anywhere they can get it and Towns is the best player available at this point. He is a decent low post scorer and uses his size well against weaker defenders. He needs a little polish to his post moves but he has a solid all around game and is a very good rebounder.

5. Orlando Magic: Kristaps Porzingis, PF/C, Latvia

Porzingis needs to put on some muscle in order to be an effective NBA big man, but he has the athletic tools to possibly end up as the best player in this class. Any player coming from overseas is a risk, but the reward here is well worth it.
