The only thing that allowed this duo to exist was an injury to David Robinson in the ‘97-97 season which caused him to miss 76 games. The Spurs had other injuries, but Robinson was easily the one with the biggest impact. They ended up winning 20 games, and were able to draft Tim Duncan in the ‘97 draft. Duncan and Robinson were a dominant low post duo who could score, rebound, and block a lot of shots. Though Robinson battled injuries much of their time together and was towards the end of his career, they were able to win two titles, including one in Robinson’s final season.
