Once the Kansas City Chiefs decided to bring in Jeremy Maclin, it was the beginning of the end of Dwayne Bowe’s time with the Chiefs. Over his career, Bowe has a total of 532 receptions for 7,155 yards. He has also hauled in 44 touchdowns over his nine-year NFL career.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Cleveland Browns have hosted Bowe, and they have to intentions on letting him leave.

In this statement, Rapoport mentioned how the Browns were after a “Top WR”. Early in Bowe’s career one could have made the argument that he was a top wide-receiver in the league, posting three 1,000+ yard seasons in his first five years in the league. In Bowe’s last two seasons with the Chiefs he has managed to post 1,472 yards, with only five touchdowns (zero in the 2014 season).

Last season the Browns’ leading receiver was Andrew Hawkins, who managed to catch 63 passes for 824 yards. Outside of Hawkins, the Browns didn’t have a reliable receiver.Taylor Gabriel, an undrafted rookie, was the team’s second-leading receiver with 621 yards on the season.

Along with the recent addition of Brian Hartline, Dwayne Bowe could certainly strengthen the receiving core in Cleveland. Only one question would remain: who will be throwing to these newly-acquired receivers?
