The Top 10 Worst Sports Movies of All Time

For what it’s worth, I totally love sports-themed movies. From the ones that touch our hearts (Field of DreamsRocky, or Hoosiers) to the ones that make us laugh (Major League, A League of Their Own, and Bull Durham). But they can’t all be winners. In fact, some of them are just downright awful. Whether it’s a plot that just misses on all accounts, or maybe it’s the acting itself. Either way, you just want to get up and walk out. Even if you’re on your own couch. So, here we go. The worst, counting down from ten to one.

#10: Ready to Rumble (2000)

So, if you were a wrestling fan in the late 90s and early 2000s, you were well aware of the “Monday Night Wars.” What you may have not been aware of was that by this time, WWE was pulling ahead of WCW, which used this movie as a marketing device to bring viewers in. And failed miserably. Anyway, this movie was supposed to make people believe that Oliver Platt was a champion pro wrestler. Strike one. And that David Arquette was funny. Strike two. And that in “real” life, Arquette would go on to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Strike three.

This movie sucks. Big time.
